"Barbara Ann" is a song written past Fred Fassert that was first recorded by the Regents as "Barbara-Ann". Their version was released in 1961 and reached number xiii on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The more famous version was recorded by the Beach Boys for their 1965 in-house live anthology Embankment Boys' Party!. The Embankment Boys recorded their version on September 23, 1965. Dean Torrence of Jan and Dean is featured on lead vocals forth with Brian Wilson. "Bomb Iran" [edit]

The song was parodied equally "Bomb Iran" by diverse musicians, including Vince Vance and the Valiants, during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis.[7]

On Apr 17, 2007, at an appearance in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina during the 2008 presidential ballot campaign, U.S. Senator John McCain responded to a question from an audience member most military action against Iran by referring to "That old, eh, that old Embankment Boys song, 'Bomb Islamic republic of iran'," and and so singing the parody chorus, "Bomb, flop, bomb, bomb, anyhow, ah ..."[viii]
